RSS 2.0 specification & XML CDATA sanitization

Raw social media text is notorious for breaking XML feeds due to reserved characters, emoji byte sequences, and unescaped links. TwiFlux adheres strictly to RSS 2.0 and W3C XML specifications:

  • CDATA encapsulation: The <description> element is wrapped in <![CDATA[...]]>, protecting arbitrary punctuation, quotes, and emoji without causing XML parser fatal entity errors.
  • RFC 822 / RFC 2822 timestamps: The <pubDate> tag is formatted into standardized RFC 822 format (e.g. Tue, 24 Sep 2026 14:30:00 GMT) recognizable by all feed aggregators.
  • Immutable GUID permalinks: The <guid isPermaLink="true"> points directly to the canonical post status URL, preventing duplicate entries when imported into personal knowledge vaults.
  • Media enclosure tags: Attached photos and video stream references are exposed via standard <enclosure> elements with accurate MIME types.
