W3C Paged Media standards & pagination control
Converting web content to PDF often results in clipped text lines or orphan images split across sheet margins. TwiFlux utilizes CSS Paged Media (@page) specifications:
- Page-break avoidance: Strict
break-inside: avoidrules keep tweet cards, author attribution blocks, and attached media together on a single page whenever possible. - Vector text fidelity: Post text is rendered with system font metrics rather than rasterized canvas pixels, ensuring text can be highlighted, copied, and indexed by document readers.
- Universal sheet standards: Calibrated for both international ISO 216 standard A4 (210 x 297 mm) and North American US Letter (8.5 x 11 in) paper formats with 0.75-inch safety margins.
300 DPI high-fidelity image budget & memory safety
When images are included, TwiFlux fetches high-resolution original master files and scales them to 300 DPI print quality. To prevent mobile browsers from crashing due to memory spikes, an internal 20 MiB decoding budget ensures seamless client-side generation without transmitting private document data to third-party rendering clouds.
Tweet to PDF questions
Is the generated PDF text searchable and selectable?
Yes. Unlike simple screenshot-to-PDF scrapers that output a blurry raster image, TwiFlux generates a true vector document. Text remains completely selectable, searchable (Cmd+F / Ctrl+F), and hyperlinked with embedded clickable source URLs.
How does the PDF engine prevent awkward page breaks across images?
Our rendering pipeline enforces CSS Paged Media rules with break-inside: avoid directives on post containers and attached photos. This guarantees that tweets and image cards are never split horizontally across two physical pages.
What is the image download and resolution budget?
To prevent browser Out-of-Memory (OOM) crashes during client-side PDF synthesis, TwiFlux enforces a strict 20 MiB aggregate image budget. High-resolution photos are scaled to 300 DPI print density for razor-sharp paper output while keeping file size efficient.
Does the PDF include legal and citation attribution metadata?
Yes. Every PDF includes immutable provenance metadata: author name, @handle, 64-bit status ID, extraction timestamp (UTC), and canonical x.com source permalink suitable for academic, journalistic, or legal records.
